How important is NCERT Maths?

National Council for Education Research & Training (NCERT) is the central body engaged in the research and training of education. Textbooks developed by NCERT are being used by Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE) and other boards in India as the best textbooks developed and published.
Earlier different CBSE Schools used text books of their choice for teaching. Recently, CBSE has instructed schools affiliated to it to strictly follow the text books prescribed by NCERT in all classes


NCERT Maths

NCERT has developed text books for Maths for all classes starting from class 1-12. NCERT Maths text books are treated as the best in India for all classes. Especially for higher classes. From class 9 onwards, CBSE strictly follows NCERT textbooks. NCERT Maths textbooks are very comprehensive in nature with reasonably simplified concept explanations,derivation of formulae, its use, problems for students to work out and exposure to practical use of the mathematical concepts. NCERT Maths for class 9

NCERT Maths for class 9 has the following topics to study:

NCERT Maths for class 10

NCERT Maths for class 10 has seven chapters:

   Pair of Linear Equations in Two Variables
   Quadratic Equations
   Arithmetic Progressions (AP)
Chapter three has Trigonometry consisting of Introduction to Trigonometry and Heights and Distances
Chapter Four has coordinate geometry consisting of lines in two dimensions.
Chapter Five has Triangles, Circles, and Constructions under the topic Geometry.
Chapter Six is Mensuration having Areas related to circles and Surface areas and volumes explained.

The syllabus of NCERT undergoes a sea change after class 10. NCERT Maths for class11 deals with the subject in depth.
