What is NEET?

      National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admissions to the medical and dental colleges in India. NEET is conducted every year to identify students for the 90000 medical and dental seats available all across India

      NEET is usually conducted in the month of May. The dates in 2021 and 2022 are affected by the pandemic. Students studying Physics, Chemistry & Biology at the higher secondary level are eligible to apply for NEET undergraduate exam (NEET-UG) Mathematics at the higher secondary level is not required to appear for the NEET exam. Usually, 180 questions will be there for the NEET exam, divided into three sections, Physics, Chemistry & Biology. Applicants will get three hours to attempt the questions. NEET-UG exam is followed by the declaration of rank list and counselling process. More than 15 lakhs students appear for the NEET exam for admissions to 80,000 MBBS, 26,000 Dental, and 50,000 AYUSH course seats, pan India.

      In Addition to NEET-UG, NTA used to conduct NEET-PG to identify eligible students for the MD, MS and related PG diploma courses. But in general, NEET refers to NEET-UG. It is expected that NEET-PG will be replaced by NEXT- National Exit Test in 2022.

1. Will NEET 2022 content be reduced?

3. Will NEET 2022 be online?
